Crews battle Pawtucket house fire

Crews battled a house fire on Merrick Street late Wednesday night. Firefighters were called to the home around 11:00 PM. Crews were able to put out the fire in less than an hour. They had to cut open the roof to douse the flames.  The home appears to have been vacant, and there was a large police presence at the scene following the fire.  No word at this hour on a cause.  No injuries were reported. This story will be updated.
