Providence teachers are rallying against the city's mass termination of teachers with a rally on the steps of City Hall.
All of the city's nearly 2000 public-school teachers got termination notices last week as the city struggles to close a $70 million budget shortfall. Despite statements from the Mayor's office that most of them will be rehired, the decision still has the teachers furious.
Several hundred people have gathered at Providence City Hall for a rally protesting the decision.
