JOB DESCRIPTION: LOCAL ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
Exempt (Y/N): Yes Salary Level: Commissioned
Shift: First Location: Studio
Supervisor: Local Sales Mgr. EEO Class: Professional
Maintain and build advertising account list by establishing relationships with direct and agency accounts. Prior media sales experience preferred. Candidate must be aggressive with good people skills and strong self-discipline.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Make outside sales calls every day.
Submit credit application to business office for all new accounts.
Confer with client to explain the rewards of regular or frequent TV advertising, determine advertising requirements, budgetary limitations and demographics.
Offer makegoods on unavailable inventory.
Submit proposed schedule and estimated budget to client for approval.
Review order received from or client to determine specifications.
Coordinate activities of workers engaged in writing copy, laying out artwork, shooting video, and performing other production activities in order to carry out approved campaign.
Obtain pertinent information concerning prospect’s past and current advertising for use in sales presentation.
Collect payments due from clients.
Write orders and schedule production for those clients that need it.
Coordinate with sales support on any scripts or special treatment of client invoices before they are mailed.
Possess drivers license, insurance and access to motor vehicle during all working hours
Monitor other media for potential sales leads.
Stay abreast of station promotions that offer special sales opportunities.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum of one year of media sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
