Malini Basu joined WLNE/ABC 6 News as a General Assignment in October 2007. Just before her arrival in New England, Malini briefly worked in New York at the ABC affiliate in Syracuse. Malini began her on-air career at the NBC affiliate in Plattsburgh, NY. She spent a year near the Canadian border covering everything from border issues to issues regarding business and industry in the North Country. For all intents and purposes, the seeds of Malini's career were planted at FOX 5 News in New York. She quickly worked her way up from production assistant to field producer. Malini graduated from St. John's University where she did the afternoon radio newscast in college. Malini is a New York City native, but she's happy to have a home in New England.
