Start Date: May 10, 2008 - End Date: May 10, 2008

Time: 1:30PM

Event Description

Stonington Harbor Yacht Club will give a flare
and signaling
demonstration. This is a great way to legally dispose of all the expired flares and signaling devices
that have been gathering in your garage. And you will learn how they
work before an emergency situation!
This flare-off will be run in cooperation with the Coast Guard
Auxiliary and Life Raft and Survival Equipment of Portsmouth, RI.
Participants will fire their own pistols, flares, meteors and
parachutes under trained instructor supervision.
The lecture portion will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Club, 32 Water
Street, Stonington Borough. Live-fire of boating flares, emergency
signals and devices will follow. Free to SHYC members; $10 charge for
non-Members.
Pre-registration is required by calling the SHYC Office at (860)
535-0112 or by contacting Scott Kraft, Fleet Captain at
