Foreign Corrupt Practices Act

John Eagan

Event Details

Date: September 17, 2008

Time: 8:30am - 11am

Event Description

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) has increasingly become a top enforcement priority for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In fact, the number of FCPA cases filed has skyrocketed in recent years—from single digits in 2004 to 38 completed cases in 2007 and another 80 investigations in the pipeline this year. This upward trend is expected to continue amid the growth of international commerce and the increasing speed of cross-border transactions.
This FCPA seminar will cover the following:

• Overview and background of FCPA
• Civil and criminal penalties and enforcement trends
• Key elements of an FCPA compliance program
