Event Description
WHAT: BankFive and WSAR will be awarding the 157th Hometown Hero, Alvin McMahon, in a public ceremony on Wednesday, November 4th at 3:30PM at the Somerset Council on Aging, 115 Wood Street, Somerset MA. Mr. McMahon has spent his retirement serving various community organizations for the betterment of the community. Most notably, he is the Coordinator of the Bristol County Medical Reserve Corps. The MRC's mission is to identify and prepare individuals who want to volunteer their time to respond in the event of a medical emergency in the community. BankFive began the Hometown Hero Program in 1993 as a way of recognizing those individuals in our community for heroic deeds, acts of kindness, and selfless efforts to make our community a better place to live and work. Since inception, BankFive has awarded 156 individuals, Mr. McMahon being the 157th.
