'Math Wizard of Oz' at Providence Children's Museum
Weekly Events November 9 - 15


Mechanical Menagerie exhibit • Through January 2010
See a collection of eye-popping sculptures – including antelopes, birds, bugs, frogs, a jellyfish and more incredible creatures – fashioned from recycled electronics and other repurposed junk by Providence artist Ann P. Smith, a Rhode Island School of Design graduate who has exhibited her work across the country.

Play and Learn
Tues., November 10 • 10:00 AM - Noon
Preschoolers hunt high and low to find just the right size boxes to fit various bugs. Ages 2 - 4


Stack 'Em Up
Wed., November 11 • Noon - 3:00 PM
Build a tower made just out of cups in the FETCH!™ Lab, a hands-on activity center. How high can you go? Ages 5 - 11

Strings Attached
Thurs., November 12 • 3:00 - 5:00 PM
Kids play with a plethora of puppets, make marionettes move, and put on a show! Ages 5 - 11


Preschool Friday*
Fri., November 13 • 10:00 AM - Noon
Preschoolers color their world brown as they mix colors and enjoy stories and snacks. Ages 3 - 5
*30-minute sessions. $8 fee above Museum admission. Discount for series pre-registration. Call (401) 273-5437 ext. 234.


Math Wizard of Oz
Sat., November 14 • Noon - 3:00 PM
Puzzles, games and activities, oh my! Join Dorothy and friends on a magical math journey that adds up to a ton of fun. Solve candy number puzzles with the Munchkins. Design costumes for Emerald City residents. Help free Dorothy from the Witch’s Castle and discover the secret identity of the Math Wizard of Oz! Ages 5 - 11


Collage Studio
Sun., November 15 • Noon - 3:00 PM
Children cut, paste and get creative as they make colorful collages. Ages 3 - 11
