at Roger Williams Park Zoo, November 28

Tickets Now on Sale for Visits with Santa, November 28 & 29, December 5, 6, 12 & 13

Providence, RI – Roger Williams Park Zoo is a very merry place this holiday season, full of holiday happenings and some truly unique gift opportunities.

The fun officially kicks off on November 28, when the Jolly Old Elf himself arrives via helicopter for the first of many appearances at the Zoo. Santa has made arrangements with Birds’ Eye View Helicopters of Middletown, RI to touch down in the Zoo’s parking lot just after 9 a.m. He’ll then board a holiday golf cart provided by Monster Mini Golf to head up a festive parade through the Zoo. The public is invited to bring new, unwrapped gifts to pack into Toys for Tots collection bins.

With paid admission to the Zoo, visitors can then participate in a festive holiday parade, featuring Santa as well as appearances by his elves, the Very Merry Dickens Carolers, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Sparky the Fire Dog, Miss Rhode Island and Miss Teen Rhode Island, along with members of the Marine Corps, who will accept the toy donations on behalf of Toys for Tots. The parade will end at the Zoo’s Jambo Junction African Village with some caroling with Santa.

Following the parade, Zoo visitors can participate in a variety of “Wild Winter Wonderland” activities from 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., including meet and greets with holiday themed costumed characters, presents for the animals, live music and dance performances, education stations and so much more. The event will also feature a festive Holiday Bazaar where you can buy Zoo memberships, one of a kind RWP Zoo ornaments, gift certificates for education programs and ZooCamp, and other unique items, as well as take part in our animal enrichment giving tree.

For families looking for a more personal experience with Santa, the Zoo is also hosting Visits with Santa on November 28 and 29, and December 5, 6, 12 and 13. On each event day, families can choose from Breakfast with Santa from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., or Milk & Cookies with Santa from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Both options include admission to the Zoo for the day, a photo with Santa, craft activity, and a small gift for each child. The Breakfast also includes a keepsake Roger Williams Park Zoo ornament for each family. Seating is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance. Call 401-785-3510 x343 or visit www.rwpzoo.org for pricing, additional event information, and to purchase tickets. The Zoo will also be accepting donations to Toys for Tots at each Visit with Santa.
