Event Description

VIPS Science Classes Give Students an Opportunity
To Create Their Own Dance Pad

VIPS, in partnership with the University of Rhode Island’s College of the Environment & Life, is offering 6th , 7th, and 8th grade Providence public school students a chance to create their own dance pad. It’s a great way for students to have fun while learning about circuits and alarms.

This spring’s exciting, hands-on science program will focus on Electricity, Chemistry and the Environment. All classes are small, enabling participants to work closely with URI staff and mentors.

The program runs for five Saturdays, beginning February 13 and ending Saturday, April 10. Times are from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM.  In addition to the hands-on activities, students will enjoy a field trip to URI’s Kingston campus where they will tour dorms, academic buildings and interact with URI students.

All classes are FREE, but space is limited.  If you are interested in having a child participate, VIPS recommends that you register now.  For more information call Irene at 274-3240 or email at ibates@vips4kids.org.
