As you said Heather, to each his own. Thank goodness the more than 2000 volunteers that came to help this amazing family did not feel the way you did. It was awe inspiring to see all of those people come to together to help a fmaily in need. Each and everyone one of them deserves to be proud and should be bragging! I am sure if you had applied for the show and were picked you would not be feeling the way you do!!

I am actually a pretty happy person. I do alot for other people. I have dontated my time to those in need but you don't see me going around bragging about it! Like I said, they are a great family for what they do but the overhype of the show was a bit much. Oh and by the way, my husband works for one of the companies that donated their services and he too was tired of seeing it promoted all over the workplace, in newsletters and on the tv. To each his own I suppose.

Heathers comments are disgusting. She apparently didnt watch the whole show. The generosity of the corporate donations was outshadowed by the outpouring of volunteer hours given to the family by thousands of RhodeIslanders who may or may not have even known the Silvas... That is just awestriking. If Heather, it is being "jammed down your throat" Pray everyday that you never need someones help. It may not happen to someone like you. God helps those who help themselves first. The Silvas did !!

I want to say ABC6 did a wonderful job with the coverage on the RI make over - and it touched my heart as my mother and father took in about 30 foster children as well as raising 5 children of there own ( I wasn't born at the time) but they are an inspiration to us all. GOD BLESS THEM. Thank you ABC6 !!!!!!!!!

Well Heather .. if you dont like seeing other people happy then dont watch the show!! this family was having a hard time taking care of all those kids and their house was not in good condition. stop complaining and the businesses and people who donated should be bragging about it. its a wonderful feeling to know that you helped someone live their life properly.

I think they deserve this new house and are truly loving, caring, kind people. I applaud all that was done for them and pray for them each day. That being said, the hype was way over the top. I, along with many others, was tired of hearing this over and over on ABC. I do not begrude nor am I miserable - just someone wanting a good perspective on things. Your station received a lot of publicity...good for you and good for them. Enough now...move on.

I was invited to attend the recpetion last night at the Crowne Plaza, and was amazed at the support and charity that the community gave to the Silva's. There couldn't be a more deserving and inspiring family. A wonderful miracle. I also think Heather below, needs to learn a little more before talking down about others or the corporations, contractors and people that sponsored, donated, or volunteered their resources and time. The Silva family are local heros deserving only the best in life!

Heather must be a pretty miserable person to say something like that, maybe its time she does something to help someone, or put herself in that familys position.

The show was great. The inside and the backyard was so nice. I like the kid name Kenny because he like racing and he likes Jeff Gordon. I also like racing and Jeff Gordon.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous the amount of hype this show has been given. Yeah, it's great that a television show helped out a great family but I am personally tired of it being crammed down our throats by every single company in RI who helped donate/promote themselves.
