National Grid Statement

Chris Boardman

National Grid recognizes the difficult financial times many of its customers are facing. We are currently experiencing an increase in the number and size of past due balances. Because we have a responsibility to all of our customers to make sure we continue to operate in a financially sound way, we have initiated a credit review of approximately 75,000 natural gas and electricity accounts throughout our New England and New York service areas. The review is being undertaken to identify any commercial customers who may present a financial risk to the company. The customers determined to present such a risk are being asked to post a security deposit equal to two months of their utility bill. Customers who receive these notices have the right to request a review of their status.
