Career counselors have said employers tend to fire their employees on Fridays, in an effort to cut down on problems or incidents as a result of the termination. So, are there ways to tell when the ax is about to fall?

ABC 6 News Reporter Erica Ricci shares some warning signs for anyone out there who thinks they might be 'Fired On Friday.'

I woke up that morning and turned to my girlfriend and said, "I hate my job. I hate everyone there". That day I was fired and that night I filed for unemployment. I believe there are too many loafs and system abusers living on the dole but in my case it gave me time to look for employment and I didn't have to settle for less than what I was worth. As for the other company, they had no idea how to implement the system I put in place. Six months later they went bankrupt. Just kidding. They're fine

Fridays became known as black Fridays at the hospital where I worked. Those who really knew it was coming would not come in - they'd actually call in sick and that would bide them another week. Over 50 in all. They lied and told people their jobs would not be effected. They cut off health insurance. Once you see the pendulum start, do not think you will be exempt - 20 years...15 years....there is no loyalty and compassion - it is as if those who do the firing do it to protect their own jobs

I think it's cowardly to fire someone on Friday. Be a man, if you have the gaul to take someone's job, don't make them wait, that's time they could use looking for a new one elsewhere.
