Machete Man taken Down by Cops in Federal Hill Area

John Eagan

It is certainly something you don't see everyday in Providence.
A man has been arrested for wielding a machete on a busy street in broad daylight.
Providence Police say the man with the weapon was chasing another man in the area of Chaucer Street.
Police swarmed the Walgreen's parking lot nearby around 8:30 Wednesday morning and arrested the suspect.
The victim had run into a nearby CVS to escape the alleged assailant.
Officials are looking at surveillance video from both stores.
Reportedly, the man with the machete had done some work on the victim's home and was not compensated for it.
ABC 6 reporter Malini Basu has the reaction from locals...

It is getting very scary out there!!!!What will be next? Something needs to be done to better patrol Providence. As tax paying citizens we deserve nothing less.
