Second Life, Part II: Drunk Driving Victim Trying to Let Go of Her Anger

John Eagan

When Jade Combie used to have people over, all she talked about was her dream to be a chef.
But now all she talks about is that horrible night in October.
The man who ripped it all away, Josh Lipton, was sentenced this week to 2 years in prison for getting wasted one night and smashing into Jade's car.
She spent a week in the hospital barely breathing.
At Lipton's sentencing, Jade was too emotional to take it all in.
She desperately wanted to see the scene again, and the man who stole her life being hauled off in cuffs,
so she asked ABC 6 News for the footage.
Jade continues to battle her injuries, and she says knowing the man responsible is paying for his crime helps her cope with it all.
ABC 6 reporter Robert Goulston has Part II of her story...

Jade ... life is never easy ... and as much as we believe this man should have more than just 2 years and I am happy that you are alive and breathing today. keep your head up and keep on sharing this experience with other teens so they know exactly what the risk and dangers are from driving drunk .. all of your friends and family are on your side and we are proud of everything that you are doing. STAY STRONG hun!

Thank You Jessica. It doesn't feel like enough but like I said he will know how I felt in that hospital bed for 3 months. I don't mean the pain - I mean the loss of freedom.

This man should be locked up for life! 2 years? Thats nothing! This girls life was dramatically altered because of this man.. she is not going to be able to fulfill all of her dreams and he should not be able to see the light of day. He is an idiot and people need to realize the consequences of driving drunk. Stay strong Jade
