Two years ago Liza Marshall was diagnosed with breast cancer.
It has since gone into remission, but she still worries it will return someday.
Now an osteoporosis drug of all things, is giving her hope.
It's called Zometa.
Researchers studied 1,800 pre-menopausal women with early stage breast cancer.
The women who took Zometa in combination with hormone drugs reduced their risk of cancer recurrence by 35%.
The findings are so promising that some doctors are saying they will start prescribing Zometa immediately.
And now the popular arthritis drug Celebrex is showing early signs of helping prevent lung cancer.
A 6 month study of heavy smokers found that taking a high dose of Celebrex could alter pre-cancerous cells.
