morning. It's weird how Chris, my dad and my life crossed paths One thing is for certain DRUGS was right in the middle of it. It took my dad out for years left huge scars on my family and unfortunately it has taken a toll on Chris and his family as well. It's a vicious sick sick disease when untreated leads to death or Prison. Pray for Chris and anyone else u know who suffers from addiction. Guy was my idol my favorite basketball player. My dad is a recovering addict been battling the disease for over 20 years. He met Chris in Fresno County Jail and later was in the same halfway house with him. I attended a Jerry Tarkanian BBall camp at Fresno State when Chris was playing there i was 11 years old. addiction is a disease.. it's not a choice. you people with the negative comments about Chris obviously have no clue about addiction.By the way Chris has been clean and sober for quite some time and is doing awesome! He is an amazing, strong, determined person. Us addicts battle this disease daily. I see chris daily doing everything possible to fight this disease. Chris is a guy who I played against in high school and college. Though, two years older he was a guy I idolized. I too, have struggled with addiction and I hope he can find the answer to his demons. Chis felt second best, sometimes third. I don't know the right words to say.I don't want to hear these types of tragic stories anymore.I, myself am a heroin addict.I have been battling this addiction for over 20 years now.I wish I had the answer to this vicious disease but I don't.What I can do is offer some words of encouragement.Keep fighting kid. THis is very sad, I dont care if your an athlete or not jail is not the answer. THis young man needs help to enable him to raise his children. Drug addiction is a disease, not a choice. It doesn't matter if it's a former pro basketball player or a regular person, unless you've been there or had a family member or friend who has an addition you'll never quite understand what people go thru. The unfortunate thing is that your station sees this as a quick headline and doesn't bother to look beyond this for the reasons this may happen and in turn the information you provide may help hundreds of other people.
