A Tearful Homecoming in North Kingstown for Returning National Guard Members

John Eagan

Twenty-five members of the Rhode Island Air National Guard are now home, safe with their families.

And while we are seeing record breaking heat, the warmth from today's homecoming didn't just come from the temperature outside.

The 143rd Security Forces came back from Southeast Asia Monday, after providing support and protection for our troops abroad.

These brave soldiers, although always ready and willing to serve, are relieved to be back on American soil.

And so are their loved ones.

I would like to Thank You for sharing in the Homecoming of our Loved Ones. My son SSGT. Joshua P. Bruhn was among the group of men and women that served. Thank You for showing your support for the work and sacrifice that they do for us.

What Do You Think of the State's New Ability to Track Illegal Immigrants?

  • I Like it, illegal immigrants are finding work easily while I rot in line at the unemployment office
  • Bad Idea, These people are taking sub-minimum wage jobs anyway and actual citizens are getting snared in this E-Verify system
