A few days ago he was playing football for the New England Patriots, but now he's locked up in jail, and has been cut from the team.
Former NFL defensive back Willie Andrews appeared in court Thursday for a dangerousness hearing, accused of assaulting his girlfriend. The 24-year old Andrews allegedly held a .45 caliber pistol against her head on June 30th at the couple's condo in Mansfield. The argument may have stemmed from accusations of infidelity in the relationship.
Andrews told police on the scene that he had no gun, but after a search, one was recovered behind a dumpster near the home a few hours later.
Two witnesses are expected to take the stand in the hearing on Thursday, one is a Sargent from Mansfield Police.
But for now, Andrews has been cut from the Patriots and is being held without bail.
