Investigators on Scene of Middletown Plane Crash

Tim Martin

A plane crash in Middletown, RI has left two people dead and one critically injured.

The plane went down near Forest Avenue, just outside the Newport State Airport. Investigators have started trying to piece together the cause of the accident.

Investigators are confronting some obstacles at this time, there are conflicting reports from witnesses regarding the plane crash, some witnesses are telling investigators that they heard the planes engine, while others are saying they didn't.

Another obstacle facing the investigation is the condition of the plane. Most of the Piper aircraft is burned, but investigators believe there is still enough of the plane intact to help them get to the bottom of why the crash occurred.
