UPDATE: North Kingstown Home Invasion Suspect Arrested

Neil Remiesiewicz

North Kingstown police reported this morning that they have arrested Raymond E. McWilliams for allegedly entering the home of a North Kingstown woman, threatening her with a knife and stealing her SUV on the morning of July 4th.

McWilliams previously served 15 years in the ACI for the 1984 murder of Peggy Flynn in North Kingstown and more recently served 18 months after extradition from Arizona on car theft and parole violation charges in 2002.

McWilliams was arrested yesterday and is being arraigned in District Court in Wakefield this morning.

ABC6 reporter John Guice has the story from North Kingstown.

Peggy's murder was a senseless, tragic event in lives of not only her family but friends who knew and loved her. This system is so unjust. Only Jehovah can truly judge him and give this murderer what he deserves. To all the Flynn family - your loss has never been forgotten by those who knew and loved this vibrant, beautiful girl. She lives in God's memory, Love Sherrie Shaw Collins.

It is crazy that he was ever released in the first place. Everyone is very lucky that this woman and her baby were not harmed... he should go back to jail and stay there for the rest of his life!!!

I knew Peggy Flynn, she was a kind and sweet person, this animal needs to stay in prison. To release him again would be a complete miscarriage of justice. He's clearly not going to change. He must complete his sentence for Peggy's murder and then begin his punishment for this crime.

Parole after 18 years of a 40 year sentence? Convicted at age 24, of a vicious murder(the victim was stabbed seven times, found beaten, bound and gagged)and is released after just 15 years?! And then released again for a THIRD time with 11.5 years left after a domestic assault charge??!! It absolutely defies logic. If society is truly going to be protected from a violent, repeat offender he should remain in jail for all convictions in addition to the remaining 11.5 years of his original sentence.

Someone like him should be in prison the rest of his life. Once again a murder is out, and they always seem to find a victim. I say throw away the key.

I am the sister of Peggy Flynn, who was murdered by this man back in 1984. When is the parole board going to figure out he can not be rehabilitated and is a threat to everyone. I hope that this time he finally gets what he deserves and rots in prison for the rest of his life. Kelly Flynn Belleview, Florida
