Career Criminal Punches Out Repo Man in Central Falls

John Eagan

He was simply doing his job, repossessing cars from owners who owe money on them.  But an innocent East Providence Repo-Man left Central Falls with much more than that Wednesday morning.

Police say the man was doing his job when 22-year old Michael Padilla walked up to him.  According to police paperwork Padilla punched the Repo man twice and pushed him to the ground.  And it didn't stop there.

Police say when the victim got back on his feet, Padilla swung and hit him again.  But here's the real kicker, the car the repossession agent was after didn't belong to Padilla.  In fact, it had no connection to him at all.

ABC 6 reporter Kimberly Bookman has the story...

So a totally unprovoked attack by Padilla. Maybe Padilla would like the same treatment in return? Throw away the key folks. Lets get real. This kind of criminal behavior is entirely too prevalent for us not to get tough on garbage like this guy!

What Do You Think of the State's New Ability to Track Illegal Immigrants?

  • I Like it, illegal immigrants are finding work easily while I rot in line at the unemployment office
  • Bad Idea, These people are taking sub-minimum wage jobs anyway and actual citizens are getting snared in this E-Verify system
