Man Accused of Firing Gunshots Off in North Smithfield Neighborhood

John Eagan

A North Smithfield man is set to face a judge Wednesday after being accused of firing gunshots in front of his house Tuesday night.

Police conducted a massive search for 57-year old Gary Fortune after he allegedly fired several shots outside of his home on 699 Greenville Road around 8 pm.  He then ran into the woods, leading police on a 3 hour manhunt to find him.

Several police departments were involved in the successful effort to find Fortune.  Police say he was upset over a family matter.  He is also accused of wielding a knife in front of his family.

  • Bad Idea, These people are taking sub-minimum wage jobs anyway and actual citizens are getting snared in this E-Verify system
