Providence Unites in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Tim Martin

300 Flames unite in downtown Providence, together they march towards a cure for breast cancer.

Thousands coming together for the 3rd annual "Flames of Hope," a celebration of life to benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.

Many of those in attendance, breast cancer survivors themselves, showing support for a good cause, and hoping that their contributions to the cause will lead to a cure for the disease.

All the money raised will stay in Rhode Island, where women have a 1 in 6 chance of contracting breast cancer, that number greater than the national average which is 1 in every 8 women.

What Do You Think of the State's New Ability to Track Illegal Immigrants?

  • I Like it, illegal immigrants are finding work easily while I rot in line at the unemployment office
  • Bad Idea, These people are taking sub-minimum wage jobs anyway and actual citizens are getting snared in this E-Verify system
