I might hate my father for what he did to me as a child, but I don't think he's a sociopath that "never will change." I think he's troubled, no doubt. As I understand it, he was molested as a child as well. But that doesn't make it right. He was a monster for what he did to me, but I don't think it's beyond his ability to control himself if he chooses. I don't think it's beyond his ability to change.

Look, this same action has been repeated over the years. I believe that whom-ever is already doing this, or is planned on doing this needs to face a greater consequence. Apparently they have no concern about whether or not they get in trouble because it is not severe enough. Now, I may only be 14 and I might not understand fully. I dont think the little girls mom is at fault at all. The little girl could have been threatened and at such a young age, you believe and fear these things. She probably didnt even act differently. She could have told anyone but chose, or felt she could not. And think about it, youre 9 and a man so much older than you is doing things that you feel uncomfortable with. if i were her age, i cant quite see myself telling anyone either because I WOULD feel wrong.

How terrible. Parents need to pay attention to their children. Little girls should never be left alone with any man relatives or otherwise. We as a society need to do a better job of protecting little girls. In addition, parents/schools/communities need to educate boys very early that girls are not place on earth to meet their needs in such a horrendous way. These kids are scarred for life and no amount of counseling will erase the experience.
