RI motorcyclist charged with robbing doughnut shop

Associated Press

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - A Warwick man has been charged with
robbing a Pawtucket Dunkin' Donuts by driving a motorcycle up to
the drive-through window.

Jeffrey Ware was ordered held without bail Wednesday during an
appearance in district court when he was charged with first-degree
robbery and assault with intent to rob.

Police say the 45-year-old Ware at first tried to rob a
McDonald's by driving his motorcycle to the drive-through window
just after midnight Saturday morning. But the clerk closed the
window and walked away.

Police say Ware then went to a nearby Dunkin' Donuts
drive-through window, where he claimed he had a gun and demanded
cash. He got away with $48.

Police say while no gun was shown, he held his hand under his
shirt to make it look like a weapon.
