EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Fire investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying an arsonist who lit ablaze two East Providence buildings, including a home where a mother and her three children live, and defaced them with swastikas.

The first swastikas were found last Wednesday on a building that fire officials believe was deliberately set on fire.

Firefighters responded to a second blaze early Sunday morning at a home in the Rumford section of East Providence. Authorities found spray-painted swastikas and a racial slur against a mixed-race family that lives in the house. The home suffered serious damage, but a mother and her three children are OK.

Investigators are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
