Daytime Carjackers Beat Victim with Crowbar

Chris Boardman

Police in Freetown asking for your help tracking down two men involved in a dangerous carjacking.

It happened around 4 yesterday afternoon. Authorities tell ABC6 news a 32 year old business owner was driving down South Main Street in the Assonet Village when his truck was rear-ended by another vehicle. He pulled over to exchange information, and that's when police say one suspect charged at him with a crowbar hitting him several times.

Police say a second suspect jumped into the victim's truck and took off. It was later found abandoned in Berkley.

Police are on the lookout for a white, late model GMC SUV with minor front-end damage.

If you see it you're asked to call Freetown police.
