Fairhaven Water Tank Oct 7, 2009 storm damage

The October 7, 2009 storm brought in 30MPH winds with a high gust of 38MPH this morning that caused superficial damage to the scaffolding outer skin at the Fairhaven Sconticutneck Rd Water Tank. The approximate 200 ft tall tank is being serviced with routine sand blasting and a new coat of paint. According to an engineer on site, he stated that the sand blasting had recently been completed and that the outer skin was designed to give way in high winds. He also mentioned that the  scaffolding will be taken down in a few days anyway.
