PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island Gov. Don Carcieri wants a green power developer and an electricity supplier to resolve their differences over a wind farm proposed off Block Island.
National Grid has told state utility regulators that Deepwater Wind wants too much money for the energy it hopes to generate with a small offshore wind farm off Block Island.
That six-turbine project would be a test for much larger wind farm that Deepwater wants to build father from shore.
Carcieri spokeswoman Amy Kempe said Friday that the governor has told both sides to keep negotiating a solution.
Lawmakers voted this year to force National Grid to buy energy from green power developers for 10 years or longer. The law allows the Public Utilities Commission to arbitrate price disputes.

Are they employing any Rhode Islanders in wind power develpment? Seems like a lot of money and time being spent for no return to our economy.
