A place of worship now the scene of a police investigation after vandals strike not once but twice, the first time leaving behind racial slurs and a swastika.
Then this week, a more threatening message. ABC6 Reporter John Guice has more...
*****
Several weeks ago the United Church of Christ in Slatersville, Rhode Island was vandalized when someone carved a swastika and a racial epithet into the front of their church building. The church's pastor, Rev. Eileen Morris, did an exceptional job of pastoral leadership in helping the church deal with this challenging situation.
Yesterday we learned that the church was vandalized again when someone carved an upside-down cross and a threat to burn down the church into the front of the church.
We can only imagine the emotions being experienced by this faithful congregation. Pastor Morris has asked for prayers for church as they continue to deal with all of this.
Would you remember this church in your worship service this weekend and in your personal prayers? It would be wonderful to let Pastor Morris know of your support by sending a simple e-mail letting her and her congregation know that they are not alone, but supported by faithful people across our state.
