UPDATE: Victim in Fatal Coventry Crash Identified

The victim in the fatal Coventry car crash Wednesday night has been identified as Joseph Palin, age 82, of Scituate.

One person is dead after a car accident Wednesday night in Coventry. Police tell ABC 6 News the one-car crash happened around 730p Wednesday, at the intersection of Route 116 (Knotty Oak Road) and Route 117 (Washington Street).

It appears the car, a black sedan, left the road and struck a tree, snapping it in half. The male operator of the car was rushed to the hospital, but later died from his injuries.

The man's identity has not yet been released, while authorities work to notify his family.

ABC 6 News will bring you more information as it becomes available.
