I hope to learn of a 'Post-Inoculation Plan' AFTER the vaccine has been administered to the K-12 population. I understand that it takes (14) days (aapx.) for the antibodies to build up the immune system against this virus. If that is true, why would we vaccinate, and then send our children back into the public? Should we not wait it out and let the antibodies build up our immune defense? Two weeks off (appx. 7 school days; teachers with pay) should be considered as a means to an end of this vi

It's pretty crazy that by the time we have a chance to vaccinate our children from the H1N1, they will already have had it and probably gotten over it and will not even need the shot! My children already have two friends that have had it! And to Ryan Tibbell you are awful to even write that!

I think they should run the clinics on the weekend to for schools!! That way the kids who will need to shots will get them faster. My kids cant get there shot until Decemeber. And that means 2 of them have to wait until january for there second shot. That is so retarted

I think they should have started this a month ago. That way the kids would be protected before the flu season started.

I think all young children should get the vaccine first then continue from there. This vaccine should have been given to our kids a month ago. Now my child has to wait till December to get the vaccine because of a computer drawning! Please!

I think if your child is high risk you might be able to get it earlier through your doctor. You would have to call them first. I know my sons doctor is giving them to the highest risk kids first as soon as she gets them

I agree with Amanda - why aren't high risk kids with underlying conditions being prioritized for the vaccine as soon as it is available? Making them wait based on a random computer selection is NOT RIGHT and MUST be corrected!!

Ryan Tibbel you are really a piece of work, you must not have kids.

Wish they could get things done quicker!! But I know they are doing the best they can. Does anyone no how they are going to do the second shot for those kids who need it?

Works for me. If they didn't pick them at random, people would be upset if their kids were not first and claim favoritism. By the way... Ryan in warwick, kids are most likely to get the virus, and they are our future taxpayers!! When you have no income, living off your social security THEY will be the ones basically paying your bills. Stop and think, do you walk through hallways rubbing shoulders with hundreds or thousands of your co-workers every day? Kids do.

Your son is in a special class and can get it now thru your doctor.

The RIDOH is doing the best they can with what they have. The CDC is the agency responsible for procuring and distributing vaccine. Was the country slow to respond? Possibly. Was the RIDOH? I don't believe so. In response to Ryan the Taxpayer, unless you are pregnant or under 20 years old, you are not a member of the highest risk groups.

Why are we wasting this vaccine on the youth? The tax payers should be the ones who get it first... who do you think pays the school's bills?

Create hysteria - check....H1N1 already widespread in RI-check...distribute vaccines in a timely fashion to students...no check there! What is wrong with this picture, there has to be a quicker way to get the students vaccinated!

A little bit of common sense instead of a supposed computer generated list should have been used to generate the distribution. I'm noticing some very small private schools scheduled to received the vaccine considerably sooner than much larger schools in the same town.
