AFGHANISTAN: N. Attleboro Marine Killed in Helicopter Crash, Was Returning to U.S. in 6 Days

According to Massachusetts state officials, a North Attleboro Marine pilot was one of 14 killed in two helicopter crashes in Afghanistan Monday.

Kyle VanDeGiesen was on board one of the two helicopters that crashed in a deadly day in Afghanistan. One helicopter crashed after leaving the scene of an engagement and the other collided with another Marine craft.
