Unemployment is not the only concern in this country! If it was YOUR child living in these conditions, I can bet you would think it was serious. At least ABC 6 does cover concerns of over 100,000 students that live in these dorms through out the area! I am getting my daughter out and sending her far away from here!!!

and when replacing the shower, they discovered an enormous collection of black mold. I would not wish to put anyone through what I went through, and you have serious psychological issues if you think you can brush it off as dirt on the ceiling or make the argument that we get what we pay for.

UMass Dartmouth students do not pay to breathe in deadly mold spores. It's NOT just the freshmen dorms, I'm a sophomore and there is mold in bathrooms, in the air vents, everywhere. Black mold can have horrible effects on one's physical health. It can cause a lot of respiratory problems and many people have linked anecdotal evidence linking leukemia to the presence of black mold. Coincidentally, I was diagnosed with leukemia when I was 14. The guy down there is right, the unemployment rate is 10.2% nationally and almost 14% in RI and this is what you fill you're airtime with? disgusting to say the least. how about talking about the ten's of thousands who have run out of unemployment checks and are living on the streets. The gentlemen is right it is no wonder that ABC is last in the ratings and will only drop further if you continue to be disconnected with the people and what is going on.

haha if you thought dirt on the ceiling was mold you deserved the swine. Dorms arnt that bad once you get out of the freshman quad.. freshman dorms suck everywhere, this isnt a big D1 or ivy league school its a state school (a second tier state school at that) you get what you pay for.

I also go to Umass Dartmouth and my roomate has asthma and we have continued to complain about the mold in our bathrooms. After much hassle the response we recieved was it was dirt that someone was throwing at the ceiling. Why would someone even waste their time, now with that said I am one of the many students who have gotten sent home with the swine. Why don't we stop paving parking lots and start cleaning up the campus?
