My pedi is recommending my daughter get the H1N1, seasonal flu, and pnemicocal vaccine. Can these be given together? I'm concerned because both the seasonal flu and H1N1 contain .25mg each of thimerisol correct? I know people say not to worry about the thimerisol but that really doesn't sound like a good thing to do to a little girls body. Have there been safety studies done on giving those 3 at the same time? Where can I find those studies? Is that the Denmark one everyone talks about?

Thank you abc6 for doing this. It's very helpful in these scary times. I admire your dedication to keeping the public informed. How do we know if the H1N1 vaccine is working if we are not testing individuals? If I get the vaccine and then come down with the flu, how do I know (or anyone know) that it's not H1N1? Where can I find and read the details of the clinical trials done on H1N1. Since those clinical trials were recent, how do we know those subjects won't come down with that strain?

This is a follow-up question to Dorothy from Newport's question concerning a child they strongly suspected had H1n1 but now is now on high dose steriods and cannot get the vaccine. She asked if there was a test for prior exposure...Dr. Lowe stated there is a test but it's reserved for a certain population. With the shortage of vaccines, why wouldn't you test for prior exposure, it could be wasted on someone who doesn't need it. How can someone who is on high dose steriods get a vaccine?

My sisters son had what we now strongly suspect was the H1N1 last spring. It was right after they stopped testing all cases. He is now on high dose steriods (2 months) and cannot get the vaccine. Is there a test for prior exposure/immunity...any kind of titers testing? 31604601

I have a 6 week old baby who cannot be vaccinated. I also have 2 school aged children who will not be vaccinated until December. If one of my school aged children comes down with suspected H1N1, other than obvious quaritine and hygiene precautions, what can I do to minimize the chances of myself or another family member contracting the flu. You can understand I must do everything to protect the baby. Could I take take tamiflu or antibiotics? If so, when and when do I contact my dr.

Not only am I concerned for her health (she has had Phuemonia)but I have a 4 month old in the household who this could be life threating to. When I have talked to other mom's they said the pediatrician office they took their children too had it??? My kids are in daycare and are at risk, what are my options?
