Fall River Announces First of H1N1 Clinics

Chris Boardman

Fall River, MA – November 30, 2009 – The Fall River Department of Community Services/Health Division announced today it will be holding the first of its school-based H1N1 vaccination clinics for all students age 10 through 18 years old who attend public, parochial, private or regional school in Fall River.

The clinic will take place at the Matthew J. Kuss Middle School cafetorium on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. while supplies last. Please use the back parking lot on Shaw Street. A parent or legal guardian must be present.

Due to limited stocks of the vaccine, shots will be given to this age group only on a first-come first-served basis. Those younger than 10 years old are encouraged to see their healthcare provider for immunization.

The Health Division has been advised that healthcare providers who see people within the present target groups are expected to be getting more vaccine over the coming weeks. As our supply continues to increase, we will be offering more clinics for children and other target groups as specified by state and federal health authorities.

For questions please contact the Public Health Nurses Office at 508-324-2445.
