At approximately 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, Feb. 2, Wareham Police responded to # 3242 Cranberry Highway, Maxi Gas, for an armed holdup. A clerk called 911 to report that he had just been robbed at gunpoint.
He told police that a 6 ft. tall heavy set male party with dark brown hair came in the front door, pointed a black handgun at him and demanded money. The clerk then handed over an undetermined amount of cash. He stated to police that the suspect told him not to call the police for five minutes or he would shoot him.

The robber then fled on foot toward Onset Ave. An intense man hunt by Wareham patrols as well as a K-9 from the Plymouth County Sheriff's Dept. was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
He is described as a tall white male, approximately six foot, 225 pounds, dark brown or black hair, receding hairline, pointed chin, in his thirties, wearing a black jacket, and a knit cap with a ring design around it.
Wareham Police are reaching out to the media and the general public for their help with any information regarding this case to contact the Wareham Police Department at 508-295-1212 or they can call the Tip Line at 508-291-2300.
