I don't think there is anything tasetful about a 15-year-old posing like this. You have to question some adults doing stuff like this. My 10-year-old and 7-year-old boys love her show. . . she is not a very good role model. . . sad to say, but I guess people will do just about anything for money or attention!

I think this is absolutely horrible. She is a 15 year old girl that was time and time again complemented for being a good role model for young girls. This does not follow suit. Total disgrace and shame that they are portraying this child in this way. I have lost my respect for her/her parents who only last month were interviewed for how they have 'helped' Miley 'cope' with her sudden rise to stardom. It appears that their guidance here was truly lacking. Bad choice Miley.

Regarding the issue of Miley Cyrus’ “inappropriate nudity.” Remember Brook Shields' controversial Calvin Klein Jeans commercials in 1980, or the movies she starred in with many nude scenes, Blue Lagoon 1980 and Endless Love 1981. Made when she was 14 and 15 years old. I think it is hypocritical for them to judge Miley and if you take a closer look at these photos, she's wearing jeans and is no more uncovered than wearing a low back one piece bathing suit. I feel the photo is completely inappropriate and her parents should have prevented it. It's obvious to anyone that it was intended to be provocative. I can't imagine how she will portray herself when she is 18. Why would anyone let their young daughter pose in this manner? She and her parents aren't stupid. One apologizes when one makes a mistake. This was no mistake; it was deliberate. On the other hand, look at the pics on myspace and facebook; soft-core pornography

I think these photos are MEANT to be sexy and not "artistic"....and a fifteen year old girl SHOULD NOT be portrayed as sexy. The photographer said she discussed the shoot with Miley befrore hand BUT THE GIRL IS 15! Maybe the magazine wanted to add petiphiles to thier list of readers.

I think this picture is really disturbing. And miley should be very disappointed and embarrased. And if you read the peoples magazine a couple of issuses ago her parents were saying that they didn't want miley to end up like Lindasy or Brittany. So what she is doing in this porn like picture is telling us that her parents don't really care. And she is probably going to lose her fans because of it.

The photograph in question is an example of well-planned and well-executed art, fully expressing skills in the softening of lines, placement of the form, and capturing the essence of the subject. Compared with the costume of many young women, the subject is demure and tasteful. Ms Cyrus need not have apologized and Ms Leibovitz has again shown the remarkable extent of her art.

As a parent of a 15 year old girl, I personally find the picture inappropriate. I don't understand the point of portraying a MINOR naked in bed with only a bedsheet covering her. However, I do like "Hannah Montana" and I don't blame Miley, I question her parents and/or management. Apparently the "mighty dollar" was more important then protecting their daughter's dignity.

It's a very artistic, very beautiful photo. In the context of the subject being a 15-year-old girl, it's a little... questionable. But I could swear I've seen the pose, composition, etc. as a painting before -- it may well have been inspired by a painting from more innocent days gone by. It's definitely art, not kiddie porn, which is particularly evident if you see the "behind-the-scenes" shots. She's not nude, she's got pants on, people!

On the other hand if a person did the same as Miley and they weren't famous...no one would care! So...I'm telling both sides of my opinion.

If you looked at any social networking site of a girl her age, you would see almost the same type of pictures. This again is media trashing a celebrity because its what they are paid to do. None of her photos are inappropriate. She may be looked up to as a role model, but people who put these photos out into the public from her private collections are the people who are making her less of a role model.

My daughters have really enjoyed Miley and I have carefully watched her rise to fame, hoping and even stating to my girls that I hoped she would continue to make good choices and age with dignity and grace. I had hoped for her to be one shining example of a young girl that would carefully protect her innocence, yet I sadly expected her not to. So, I wasn't surprised, just very disappointed in her choice and her parents. Both pictures were way too provacative and inappropriate for a 15 year old!
