After a memorable speech last week by Barack Obama, the ball is now in John McCain's court. It is now in the hands of the Republicans to convince Americans that they are the party that belongs in Washington for another 4 years.
After a delay due to Hurricane Gustav, John McCain and his followers have resumed their convention in Minnesota. But controversy has immediately surrounded his running mate, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska. Her experience has been questioned since McCain tapped her services last week, and now the pregnancy of her 17-year old daughter is making headlines throughout the nation.
Controversy aside, is there anything you would like to know about the Republican nominee for president? What are his plans for Iran? How is he going to address the renewable energy issue? Why did he skip over several of the nation's top Republicans for a relatively unknown governor?
We at ABC 6 are curious, 'What would you ask John McCain?'
Leave your questions and comments below and we may air them on ABC 6 News...

I am from the younger generation and I want to know how John McCain can relate to the younger generation. We don't need an old-timer that falls right in-line with George Bush, but someone who is young and fresh that cares about the middle class and students.

I would like to know Senator McCain's specific position on Biodiesel. In everything I read, I see a lack of support for ethanol but no mention on biodiesel. Gary N. Sink Thomasville, NC

Mr. McCain and Mrs. Palin what sort of help will you give people who make between 40,000 and 100,000 dollars a year. And what relief are you going to give Senior citizens who are still working due to Bush's economic crisis in this country. Also, what does Mrs. Palin really know about foreign affairs (nothing). We have had enough, we need to go backward a little where all americans had a opportunity.

How could you possibly be an agent of change when you voted with Bush 95% of the time?

Why on earth do you feel another four years of the George Bush disaster will do anything good for this nation? Bush has left this country in a mess both nationally and overseas. If Iraq didn't have oil would we have gone to war? North Korea is just as evil or worse. But they have no oil. Bush/McCain only care for their wealthy friends and the oil companies. Everyone else is an afterthought. If McCain wins we can all say "good-bye" to the good old USA.

Why whould a 72 year old man running for president select a women to be a heartbeat away from the worlds most powerful and important position when she has no national political experience, no foreign relations experience and no creditablity as a leader. Big Mistake

Sarah Palin has virtually no experience in foreign policy, and less than 2 years experience as governor. Please explain why she would be qualified to take over as President in the event you were no longer able to hold office?

Mr. McCain, do you think you would ever pre-emptively strike at another country (i.e. Iran) without the total backing of a coalition of nations, unlike the Bush administration?
