Providence City Councilor Providing Bins Free of Charge

Bryan Monaghan

As the issue of a new recycling program in Providence continues to be the talk of the city, one of the main complaints by residents is the cost of new bins for their recyclables. Now, at least one City Councilor is working to change that - he's handing out new bins, free of charge.

ABC 6 News Reporter Tom Langford has the details.

Here's more on the announcement about free bins. Ward 12 residents can also reach Councilman Hassett by email at thassett12@aol.com.

Why did people pay for them than? It's not fair that people paid for them and the next person is getting them for free. The city needs to give us some refunds.

That don't seem to make a difference we purchased the coorect amount of bins and trash, they only seem to be picking up one trash can? I have a two family they are doing this to everyone, now they have an excuse to get home early, by avoiding trash pickup, This is only going to make Providene even Dirtier than it already is....
