James Woods' Brother Not Seen by Doctor for an Hour

Chris Boardman

WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - A witness says the late brother of the actor James Woods was not seen by a doctor until an hour after he came to the Kent Hospital emergency room complaining of a sore throat.

Lisa Konopka, the fiancee of Michael Woods, testified Friday in
Kent County Superior Court in a wrongful death lawsuit that accuses Kent Hospital of providing negligent care three years ago. The suit was brought by James Woods, the Oscar-nominated actor and the administrator of his younger brother's estate.

Michael Woods, who had heart disease, went into cardiac arrest
in the hospital emergency room in 2006. He was 49.

Konopka's testimony contradicts earlier statements from hospital
staff, who say Woods was seen by at least two doctors within an
hour of his arrival.

Dear Lynne, You sound like a very competent doctor; can we have your address so we can go straight to your house when we need immediate medical care? Thanks, Forest
