The US Coast Guard confirms that a fishing vessel has grounded and sunk near Point Judith Harbor in Narragansett while leaving the harbor for a fishing trip.
Two people - owner Daniel Conrad and Robert Kenyon - were aboard the 66-foot vessel Patricia Jean when it ran aground west of the jetty forming the Harbor of Refuge and started taking on water shortly before 4:30 Saturday morning. A Coast Guard lifeboat was unable to get close enough to the Patricia Jean because of the rocks so the fishermen abandoned ship with ther survival suits on. They were in the water for about two minutes before the Coast Guard boat pulled them aboard.
Conrad and Kenyon were taken to Coast Guard Station Point Judith but fortunately both were uninjured. The Patricia Jean is homeported in Point Judith.
The Coast Guard spotted fuel leaking from the boat and are now working to contain the leak and ultimately salvage the boat.

Dan, Sorry to hear about your loss! We're all thinking of you here. Let us know if we can help in anyway. Maybe some labor getting her back to work.
