Samaritan Comes to the Aid of Stabbing Victim Outside Local Warwick Bar

John Eagan

A local bar owner is setting the record straight about a stabbing that happened NEAR, not AT her bar.
And it was one of her regulars that helped keep the victim of that stabbing alive.
The victim was apparently stabbed somewhere in the vicinity of Warwick Avenue after leaving Eddie's 529 Club in Warwick late Saturday night.
He then staggered back into Eddie's parking lot where a good Samaritan came out to his rescue.
That man, Craig Arruda, says he did what he believes anybody else would do, and that he never even thought about not helping the victim.
Police are still searching for a suspect.
ABC 6 anchor Paul Mueller has the more from the owner of Eddie's who says her family owned business is not the type of place where this sort of thing usually happens...

I am very happy to hear Bonnie was given the chance to clear Eddie's name. Her bar has always been a great place to go. I have really enjoyed going there over the years and visiting with friends. Eddie's is like Rhode Islands Cheers (everybody knows your name)and if you are a new-comer you will be part of family before you know it.

Do You Think the Rhode Island General Assembly Will Fix the Budget Deficit?

  • HA! No, they're going to chase their tails and point fingers and get nothing done. Business as usual.
  • I think some progress can be made. It's going to take some painful cuts and creativity, but we can do this.
