Police Searching for Mysterious Man Seen Disappearing into Woods in Central Falls

John Eagan

Rescue crews were called to the Valley Falls Pond area of Central Falls late Sunday night after neighbors witnessed a man disappear into the woods.

Neighbors are telling ABC 6 that the whole situation is just strange.  A woman first noticed the stranger wearing a medical bracelet walking in her backyard on Temple Place and Shawmut Street in Central Falls.  He then wandered into her neighbor's yard and kept walking into the bushes.

By the time police and fire arrived, he had disappeared.  For an hour and half emergency crews in boats scoured the pond for any sign of the man, while other crews searched the river bank and bushes.

ABC 6 reporter Malini Basu has more on this mysterious sighting...
