Protests are gaining strength after a highly coordinated immigration raid by federal agents saw dozens of Rhode Island contracted workers taken into custody.
About 100 people protested outside of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Building in Providence Tuesday night after several illegal immigrants were arrested during the raids. The illegal immigrants were working at 6 different court houses across Rhode Island, including Providence, Wakefield, Newport, Warwick and Cranston. According to the AP, the raids took place simultaneously around 5 pm Tuesday evening. Thirty-one people were taken away in all.
An immigration activist tells ABC 6 that 12 of the detainees have been freed so far, and the rest are with I.C.E.(Immigaration and Customs Enforcement) in Boston.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says the illegal immigrants were employed by two companies: Tri-state Enterprises employment agency in North Providence and Falcon Maintenance Company in Johnston. The immigrants are accused of using false identification documents.

Who's identity was taken over or what forged documents were presented to obtain employment? Stealing Identity and forging SSN#'s are felony's and that makes them criminals. The illegal aliens should be prosecuted, jailed and then deported. I hope the American Citizens who's identity's were taken over can recover. For you Illegal Alien supporters, kindly post your SSN# and personal info to help the poor " migrant workers" out, they will need new ID's now that they have been caught.

We are all products of immigration....unless you are Native American! Many complain about these people taking jobs from American citizens but in all honesty do you think people will work these jobs at minimum wage or less. These people aren't criminals and shouldn't be treated this way. We are targeting the wrong people. Getting here legally? It's easier said than done.People complain that they aren't paying taxes and whatnot...maybe if they were given the chance it wouldn't be such a problem!!

I am really sad to hear this. People who clean bathrooms are being treated as criminal but the law does not do anything about people who are out there really doing harm. I was really upset when I saw in the news that ice states that illegal immigrants (aka) hard working people where exposed to vulnerable sensitive information housed in the court what did they mean by that, The court itself is corrupted so whether people who work there are legal or illegal the same information is exposed.
