Murdered Brother of Pawtucket Police Captain to be Laid to Rest

John Eagan

The brother of a Pawtucket police captain is set to be laid to rest Thursday after he was shot to death on his way to work last week.

Carl Seebeck, who worked at the Amtrak station in Providence, was on his way to a Pawtucket bus stop around 4:30 am on Friday morning when he was murdered in what appears to be a random act of violence.

At first police thought Seebeck was stabbed to death but later confirmed he died from a gunshot wound to his side.

The 63-year old victim is the brother of Pawtucket Police Detective captain John Seebeck.  Authorities are still searching for the suspect.

Funeral services for Seebeck will be at 7:00 pm after calling hours from 4-7 pm at the Manning - Heffern Funeral Home in Pawtucket.
