The Rhode Island DOT needs to start using advanced technology to reduce the number of structurally deficient bridges, saving taxpayers money for unnecessary repairs or replacements, while assuring safety. Using this technology, called structural monitoring, we are learning that many bridges classified as structurally deficient actually are not. But until your DOT uses more objective, precise technology, they will continue to guess and not know for sure. Check: www.lifespantechnologies.com

What Do You Think of the State's New Ability to Track Illegal Immigrants?

  • I Like it, illegal immigrants are finding work easily while I rot in line at the unemployment office
  • Bad Idea, These people are taking sub-minimum wage jobs anyway and actual citizens are getting snared in this E-Verify system
