I always recycle and think the program is needed. Hopefully this situation will be straightened out. My issue is that I received NO such mailing to my house in advance. The communication aspect has been terrible. Some of my neighbors had both their recycling bins out this week but their trash was STILL not picked up??? Is it because their Green cans are overflowing from missing the previous pickup? If so, this is getting ridiculous, penalizing people in spite of their best intentions.

If I were those people I would take my trash late at night and put it in front of city hall and I bet that Cicilline has it picked up then

Charging for the bins is just asking for trouble, people are going to steal them. How about implementing a program where recycling is free, including bins. Allow 2 or 3 30 gallon pink or orange "regular trash" bags per week for free. Anything more than the 2-3 trash bags going to the landfill per week and you get charged extra. Almost everything would be recycled because it would be free. This program is not well thought out.

Great, I went out and purchased bins, instructed my tenants to follow the new recycle policy, whihc they did, I went over on Saturday 11/14 the regular trash had not been picket up and now the bins are gone. What is the mayor thinking, recycle? your talking about the city of Providence where the majority of the people who live there are renters.........Well the bins are gone and the regular trash is still out there. So no bins to regular trash pick up. Nice going mayor, my tax dollars.......

The execution of this new "recycling program" was a disaster. They implemented a new program that was not well thought out. Many residents have just left their bins on the street. The residents of Providence, who carry a heavy tax burden have to deal with not having their trash picked up, please, they should have sent residents letters with clear information regarding the program and how it will be executed. Residents were instead left with trash on their curb until next week, go figure

The execution was flawed, and if you're from smithfield and other parts of the state what gives you the right to tell me who pays about $35k in taxes for my properties that i should deal with the way this was done? Everyone agrees recycling is great, however this was absolutely done the wrong way.

The City of Providence is run by lunatics. The roll out of this program was a disaster. I've been recycling here for ten years, this is the first time they failed to pick up our trash. Lunatics

How about if the residents of Providence stop crying and buy recycling bins, then there will be no trash problem and will be helping in recycling efforts......

Rhode Islanders are so lazy and self centered that they have to be forced to recycle...kind of sad if you ask me. How much effort does it take..none...you throw a bottle in a bin next to you normal trash. Every highway exit has a constant stream of litter...there is no respect to others or the environment...get with the times.

littering is about to become the new fad .. Thats ok. The Mayor doesnt have to worry him and his corporate cohorts don't live in the neighborhoods
