POLICE: Craigslist Cell Phone Buy Meeting Leads to Lincoln Stabbing

The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a robbery and felony assault that occurred in the parking lot of the Lincoln Mall, outside the McDonald's Restaurant.

On Monday, 11-30-2009, at approximately 6:15 PM, officers responded to a report of a stabbing outside the McDonald's restaurant, located at 622 Washington Highway in the Town of Lincoln. The initial investigation determined that a robbery had occurred, and a 19 year old male victim from Woonsocket was threatened and then slashed with a knife by an assailant. The victim received a non-life threatening injury.

The parties had recently made contact through Craigslist, and the suspect had agreed to purchase a cell phone from the victim, meeting at the Lincoln Mall McDonald's. This was NOT a random attack, but a planned meeting between the parties.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be forwarded when available.
